The township of Scugog is getting ready to prepare their budget for
2026, and they would like to hear from the people.
There will be multiple opportunities to voice your opinion and
concerns regarding the budget as Council will be hosting 2 townhalls.
The first one will be August 12th between 6 and 8 pm at the Scugog
Library, with another one to follow on the 18th at the greenbank hall

There seems to be a need for speed in North Durham, and Police are
trying to get drivers to slow down at red lights.
The Durham police North Division ran a 2 day red light blitz
enforcement in the Townships of Scugog and Uxbridge and police
were busy those two days.
During the red light blitz police handed out 94 tickets and 24 cautions.
Police are reminding residents to come to a complete stop before the
light turns red and to watch for changing signals.
It has been 2-years since the Oceangate submersible imploded deep
under the Ocean killing 5 people. The US coast guard has released its
final report after a long investigation.
The entire report was just over 330 pages and went into extreme
details on how the business operated, its work place culture and every
aspect of the Ocean gate.
According to the Coast guards report. Ocean gate failed to follow
engineering protocols when it came to safety testing of the vessel.
