Hockey season is finally here! Or at least training Camp is. Camps
around the country in various leagues are starting to open up, to
prepare for the 2025-26 season.. That includes camp for the Uxbridge
Bruins.
Tryouts are set to open on Tuesday at the Stouffville arena. There will
be 4 days of tryouts according to the bruins social pages, and tryouts
are free to anyone that can skate. If you are interested in trying out for

Bicks will no longer be on the shelves at some Canadian retailers
because of the ongoing trade war between Canada and the United
States. Prime Minister Mark Carney and US President Donald Trump
got off to a friendly start when Carney was first elected, however
negotiations have soured since then.
There is a total fire ban in effect for the city of Kawartha Lakes as
officials continue to battle an ongoing wildfire. The fire is in the burnt
river area and water bombers have been dispatched to tend to the fire.
The fire has been ongoing since Friday and has damaged an
estimated 30 hectares of land so far.
Although the fire is considered to be serious, at this point in time no
evacuation orders have been put in place.
