With kids headed out tonight for their trick-or-treat, Georgina Fire is reminding residents to make sure you keep your driveway and your house safe. If you happen to have decorations up for Halloween, Georgina Fire says that you should keep all heat sources away from those decorations. Heat sources include things like outdoor heaters, open flames, and even light bulbs. If you want more information on fire safety, you can visit georgina.ca slash living.

One of the biggest attractions at the Toronto Zoo is gone. The Toronto Zoo announced that its iconic gorilla Charles passed away from natural causes after experiencing significant health issues. The Toronto Zoo opened in the mid-1970s, and Charles was there since day one. Charles outlived most of his fellow western lowland gorillas. The average age for the animal is between 30 and 40 years old. However, Charles blew that right out of the water when he passed away on Tuesday. Charles was 52 years old.

Canada Post and their union workers headed back to the bargaining table after the Canadian Union of Postal Workers voted in favour of a strike over the weekend. The two sides have been trying to hammer out a new deal for almost a year with very little success. Canada Post has now presented the union with a new deal that meets most of their demands. The proposal comes with a wage increase of 11.5% over four years. It also protects current workers’ pensions. The proposal would also come with protection of benefits and job security.
