Uxbridge’s fire department will hold a large emergency exercise on September 16 to test its emergency response and evacuation plans. The exercise will run through the morning, with people evacuated from a municipal building to the arena, and volunteers are needed to take part. Fire Chief Mike MacDonald says the department is also ready to respond to grass, brush and forest fires, which are the biggest fire risks in the area.
