Drivers in Uxbridge should expect lane restrictions on Regional Road 8 at Siloam Bridge between June 29 and July 13 as Durham Region completes final paving and grading work. Tick reports are rising across Ontario, with more than 8,700 ticks reported so far this year — a 50 per cent increase from the same time last year. Experts say warmer weather and growing deer and mouse populations are helping ticks spread to more areas, increasing the risk of Lyme disease. Residents are being encouraged to take precautions outdoors, as Lyme disease cases continue to increase across Canada.
