Two dedicated Uxbridge volunteers have been recognized for their contributions to the community. Public parking has returned to the Lower Brock Street downtown area following the completion of a key stage in the ongoing Uxbridge Downtown Revitalization Project. The lot is now open for the summer season, offering 41 standard parking spaces and two accessible spots for residents and visitors supporting local businesses. While some site activity will continue, the focus in the months ahead will shift to reviewing environmental data, developing site remediation plans, and finalizing designs in partnership with the Township of Uxbridge.
A child was taken to hospital after being bitten by a coyote in Whitby on Monday, according to Durham Regional Police. The incident occurred in a public field near a wooded area, prompting police to remind residents to use caution around trails, forests, and other natural spaces where coyotes may be active.
