Students attending Elmwood School hosted a frozen turkey drive, alongside monetary fundraising to support initiatives like the Ottawa Mission that help serve hot meals to the needy. To date, some 37 frozen turkeys were personally dropped off by Elmood students at the Mission on Thursday, with one of the students saying that this was the fifth year that their school organized the drive – fittingly called the “Elmwood Turkey Trot.”

Ottawa Health warned on Thursday of the risk of measles exposure following confirmations of two cases in the city. A list of locations possibly connected with the two infected are as follows, as per the health unit’s website.
Anyone who has attended these locations is encouraged to closely monitor for symptoms until at least the end of this month, even if already vaccinated, due to the highly contagious nature of the illness that may lead from high fever, cough, runny nose and other minor side effects to more grave outcomes such as rashes starting from the face and spreading to the rest of the body.
