This weekend is trail discovery day in Uxbridge and Clinton Harper from the Uxbridge Fire department spoke to us about how fire fighters navigate the trails. This weekend all parking will be free at trailheads.

Local residents may notice fewer mowers along some roadsides in the coming weeks as turtle nesting season gets underway. Municipal crews are temporarily avoiding areas known to serve as nesting sites to help protect eggs and support local turtle populations. Drivers are encouraged to take it slow and steady when turtles are spotted near or on roadways.

The Trump administration is proposing new tariffs on Canada and dozens of other trading partners, alleging they have failed to adequately block imports made with forced labour. Under the plan, a 10 per cent tariff would apply to Canadian exports that do not meet CUSMA rules of origin, though most Canadian exports would remain exempt. The proposal is subject to public consultations and hearings before any tariffs can take effect.
