Allison Peck from Cedar Center, joined Dan Pollard last week to promote York Regional Police’s Ride for Refuge. “We’re the only trauma specific organization in York Region that works with the issue of child abuse. We’ll be offering a well-marked 2.5 and 5 km walking trail to the South as well as a riding Loop to the north to home and Landing. We are looking for anyone who wants to join us on that day to walk, ride or roll.” Ride for Refuge takes place tomorrow October 3rd at Fairly Lake Newmarket from 1 to 4PM.
Nathan Pegg from Homestead Orchards spoke with us about the uptick in thefts he’s been noticing on his farm. “Oh it boils me. Thinking you know ‘I can just take whatever I want.’ Even a few extra apples that won’t fit in their bag they pay for on our farm, I get people that fill their pockets, fill their bags. There is a lot of theft here. You know I don’t mind if people go out and test a strawberry to make sure it’s sweet or it’s how they like them. But it’s another thing to go out and graze and have a full meal.” Listen to the full tractor talk interview tomorrow right here, on 93.7 the new kcountry.
