The Georgina Leisure Pool is offering Adapted Sensory Swim every Tuesday and Thursday from 4:30 to 6 p.m. The drop-in swim provides a quieter environment with no music for individuals with sensitivities. Participants must attend with a parent, guardian, or support worker, with one caregiver admitted free per participant, while regular wristband and aquatics admission policies apply.

The Lake Simcoe Water Soldier Working Group is asking residents and visitors to help stop the spread of water soldier, an invasive aquatic plant that can interfere with swimming, boating, and fishing, and can even cause cuts with its sharp leaves. People are encouraged to clean, drain, and dry their boats and equipment before entering or leaving the water, and to report any suspected sightings of water soldier outside of Cook’s Bay. 

The Georgina Community Food Pantry will launch a mobile food pantry this winter to help people in Keswick and Pefferlaw access food more easily. The new service will bring groceries to community pick-up locations for residents who have trouble getting to the pantry in Sutton. Residents can fill out an anonymous survey by Aug. 31 to help choose the best locations for the service.
