The Ontario Federation of Agriculture is reminding farmers and motorists to slow down and share the road safely when farm equipment is present. Officials say farm vehicles are more likely to be involved in fatal collisions, with many crashes occurring during passing or when equipment is entering, exiting or crossing roadways. Farmers are encouraged to keep equipment visible and road-ready, while motorists should be patient, plan passes carefully and remember that everyone has a role in getting home safely.

Georgina is asking residents to help shape how municipal dollars are spent in 2027. Residents can weigh in on local services and priorities through a budget survey and interactive Community Priorities Challenge, both available until Oct. 3. Feedback can be submitted online or through paper surveys available at the Civic Centre, Georgina Public Library branches, the Multi-Use Recreation Complex and the Link.

Georgina’s Bag Tag Exemption Week continues until tomorrow, allowing residents to place up to five items at the curb without bag tags on their regular waste collection day. Large items such as couches and dressers are included, but refrigerators, stoves, washers, dryers, dishwashers and other electronics are not. Residents can find more information at georgina.ca/waste.
