Legion Week is underway, recognizing the important work Royal Canadian Legion branches do for veterans and their communities. In Uxbridge, the week is extra special as the local Legion celebrates its 100th anniversary. Township officials are thanking Legion members for 100 years of service, remembrance and community support.

More than 120 people took part in Durham Region’s annual farm tour last week, hosted this year by West Port Dairy. Visitors toured the family-run dairy farm and learned about modern farming, new technology, raising calves and planning for the future. The Durham Agricultural Advisory Committee says the event highlighted the important role family farms play in the region and the work being done to keep local agriculture strong.
