Construction on the Mill Gate Dog Park in Beaverton is set to begin next Monday, with the work expected to be finished by the end of August. The park will have separate areas for large and small dogs, double gates, and later, benches, picnic tables and garbage bins. Brock Township says the project is moving ahead this year, with a more than $8000 budget shortfall being covered by the Tax Rate Stabilization Reserve. Residents are asked to use caution while work is underway.

The Township of Uxbridge is reminding residents that there are only a few days left to submit candidate nomination papers. Nomination papers can be filed with the Township’s Clerk’s Department until Friday, August 21st at 2 p.m. Anyone planning to run in the upcoming election is encouraged to make sure their paperwork is submitted before the deadline.

New lane restrictions are now in place on several streets in Scugog as Durham Region crews begin watermain replacement work. Restrictions affect parts of Caleb, Clark and Elgin Streets and are expected to remain in place until December 15th, weather permitting. Drivers are asked to slow down and use extra caution around the construction area and workers.
