Georgina Fire and Rescue Services firefighters recently took part in hands-on training focused on removing people safely from damaged vehicles. The practice gives crews a chance to sharpen their skills and prepare for the challenges they may face at a serious collision. Regular training helps ensure firefighters are ready to respond quickly and safely when the community needs them most.
Southlake Health is planning major changes to expand health-care services across the region, including a new hospital in East Gwillimbury and new care centres in Georgina and Bradford. The Newmarket hospital on Davis Drive will remain a full-service hospital with its emergency department, surgeries and cancer care, while also getting upgrades. Southlake says the changes will take many years, but the community will continue to be updated as plans move forward.
