Vendor applications are now open for the MURC Summer Pop-Up Market. Local artisans, bakers, makers and small business owners are invited to apply for a chance to showcase their products at the summer markets on July 22 and Aug. 19, both running from 5 to 8 p.m. Applications are due by July 9, and spaces are limited.

The Town of Newmarket has closed its investigation into alleged brothel activity at a residential property after finding zoning bylaw violations and working with York Regional Police and the property owner. Police say the occupants have not lived at the home since March. The town says upcoming provincial changes will give municipalities stronger powers to enforce zoning bylaws and issue penalties for violations more quickly.
