The Ontario government continues to welcome investments into electric vehicles. The latest investment comes from Hannon Systems, which is a global automotive parts supplier. Hannon Systems will be investing $155 million to build an almost 300,000 square foot facility in Woodbridge, Ontario. The facility will focus on e-compressors, which is an essential part of any EV. The factory will be the first of its kind in North America, and with it opening, is expected to create over 300 jobs in the area.

Election season is almost upon us in Canada, and federal Conservative leader Pierre Polyev continues to make campaign promises. His most recent promise is right on brand with his Axe the Tax, pledging to eliminate GST on new homes sold for under $1 million. The announcement was made yesterday on social media in a campaign-style video. According to Polyev, GST was not meant to be applied to necessities like food and housing. Polyev says that his promise will save Canadians $40,000 on an $800,000 home.
